The Access For All Boat

Welcome to our new Access For All service!

People with disabilities have the same needs for recreation and leisure as people without disabilities; however, they sometimes access more structured leisure activities within disability organisations and service providers, thereby reinforcing their segregation from community and friends on occasions.

The core principle of the Lough Ree Access For All boat and lake centre is to eliminate this segregation in so far as is humanly possible.

The provision in the Lough Ree Lake Access for All water-based facility of an integrated ‘sporting’ experience for people with disabilities is a step in the right direction. Activities such as angling will be available on our boat.

Whilst extra supports will be provided for disabled persons, the project will also provide an opportunity for able-bodied persons and disabled persons to play sport together, undertake adventure activities and socialise together.

On this website people with disabilities, mobility difficulties and dementia can make a booking to travel on the Access For All boat on a date of their choice in 2022.

Lough Ree Access For All CLG is a not-for-profit community group – set up to provide a specific service to people in these sectors who are often isolated so a reduced rate has been set on the website to safely transport our guests with their carers (where applicable) and still help us to meet the running costs of fuel, insurance. staff etc.

Our special introductory rate for the launch of our boat trips service this summer is : –

A person with a disability will face a charge of 20.00 Euro for a 90 minute boat trip

30.00 Euro per adult

12.50 per child.

In each case, the person booking should advise if they intend to travel with a personal assistant – the P.A. will be travel free of charge.

It is important for each person to clarify the cost of their trip and confirm identification details BEFORE they book on the website.
