This role is instrumental in steering the financial control of the organisation and overseeing statutory reporting. The successful candidate will not only lead in the development and implementation of business controls and reporting to partner agencies but will also cultivate key relationships with commercial partners and the European Commission as per strategy devised with support of Rethink Ireland. Moreover, the role entails the management of projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency in the period 2024-2027.
Oversee the preparation and supervision of monthly management accounts.
Conduct general accounting duties, including monthly bank reconciliations, creditor and debtor statements, and bank receipts and lodgements.
Process payments of all invoices, ensuring a robust audit trail from requisition to payment.
Collaborate with Company Auditors to ensure timely completion of End of Year Accounts.
Prepare records required for internal or external audits
Generate financial reports for the Board of Directors and Audit & Finance sub-committee.
Manage payroll requirements on a weekly basis, including submissions to Revenue.
Prepare financial reports and reconciliations for Grant Funding Bodies (e.g., Pobal).
Handle the preparation and filing of all Revenue returns, taking responsibility for all taxes – VAT, PAYE/ PRSI, Corporation Tax, etc.
Develop new income streams and partnerships within the disability sector.
Source and cultivate a portfolio of clients and partners, with a focus on commission-based bonus payments.
Build collaboration channels and enhance brand recognition through various activities, including business networking, sponsorship events, and exhibitions.
Clearly articulate the value proposition of Lough Ree
Access for All CLG to prospective partners using a consultative and solutions-based approach.
Ensure adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Maintain, review, and update all LRAFA office records, governance, and documentation.
Supervise all other accounts staff to ensure effective administration of CLG finances and the operation of the LRAFA centre.
LRAFA is an award-winning community-based social enterprise providing wheelchair-accessible boat trips, guided angling safaris, power boat certified training and historical /cultural/wildlife excursions for people with disabilities and others from all over Ireland. Participation in training programs to enhance understanding and skills when assisting people with disabilities is required. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as needed to meet service demands
Proven sales, networking, and business development skills.
Qualification as an accountant or a qualified account technician with over 5 years of financial administrative experience in a similar role or environment – with clean driving licence.
Knowledge of Accounting Software (Surf Accounts or similar) and Payroll Software (Collsoft or similar). Strong client relationship management skills with a track record of delivering for the client.
Excellent verbal, written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Target-driven, self-motivated, with high levels of self-discipline and drive.
